What it does

LEDGER is Find-Fracture-First — one letter of the Cognitive Alphabet — turned on the record between you and any AI you use.

Point it at a folder of your saved chats (.txt) and it counts, file by file and overall, two honest numbers: CATCHES — turns where YOU had to push back hard — and REGISTER-FIRING — turns where the machine performed ("great question", "absolutely", flattery, mystic filler) instead of worked.
It keeps YOUR record too: file one dated row per catch, in your own words, into an append-only ledger beside the tool — with a running count. When a vendor says the new model is better, run the same count on the new chats and watch whether your number moves.
It reads both common export shapes ("User:/Assistant:" and "[turn 12] USER:") and writes one keepable web page — LEDGER_REPORT.html.
Honest scope, on the page and in the readme: it reads register, not truth — a marker-based estimate anyone can re-run, not a lie detector. Reads only; nothing leaves your machine; no account, no internet.

The vendor: "the new model is dramatically better." You: no way to check. LEDGER: your catches were 13.5% last month. Run it again. Now the number answers, not the marketing. The same instrument its builder runs over his own fifteen-month record — bundled unmodified.
